History[]
Past[]
Kieri was born in Heaven to the Suizahn Clan along with their twin Kazai. They were beloved by others and seen as a sign of hope, for they were meant to inherit their father's title and become the next Thrones of their clan. Early on, Kieri developed an interest in reading and learning about Median culture at the school for Cherubs, being the only one in their family to do so.
Following strict training, they managed to earn their Sun Emblems just before turning 11. She began her Warrior training, inheriting a sword as her weapon; however, unlike her brother, Kieri was less adept as a Warrior. While she loved Kazai, she always felt like she was living in his shadow, as he made friends easily while she didn't get along with other Archangels, who didn't share her interests. She saw herself as the inferior twin with no reason to exist, which prompted suicidal ideas.
Despite her best efforts and everyone's expectations of her, she could not get the hang of combat training; as such, she earned a lot of disappointment from her mother, which escalated into verbal and physical abuse. She was made to fight her as part of the Star Emblem qualification exam, but failed and nearly died from it. She also started self-harming around that time.
She spent a lot of time at Heaven's Grand Library, using Median fiction as a means to escape her reality. She was eventually allowed to enroll in an Advanced Lingo class, but her classmates were frightened by her and never spoke to her. Around that time, Kazai earned his own Star Emblem, and she felt the two of them starting to grow apart.
Snow Angels[]
Arriving in Medius[]
One day, Kieri, Kazai, his friend Sanjulo and a Human were pulled into a strange portal and ended up in Medius, at the graveyard outside of Farun where the human had been buried. They headed to Farun in order to figure out their next course of action, staying at the Snow Drop Inn owned by the boy's father. A few days after arriving, Kieri had a run-in in town with Toski the Rabbit who was committing a robbery. She tried to intervene but Toski decided to curse her, transforming her into a Snow Rabbit.
At some point, Kieri got into a fight with Kazai for reasons unknown. Eventually, the three encountered a Fire Demon in town and gave chase after it. Kieri, being slower than the two, ended up falling behind and getting ambushed by Lazuli and Talus. Lazuli placed magic braces on her to keep her quiet and prevent her from using any magic. They then took her out into the forest where she would be beaten occasionally while being their prisoner; one night, Kieri escaped in her Snow Bunny form, and collapsed from exhaustion in the forest.
She would later be found by Rhea and Buwaro, who accidentally sat on her. Rhea wanted to eat her, but Buwaro grew attached as she reminded him of Sakido; before he could say so, Rhea suggested they name the rabbit "Snowy". They then took her to Rhea and Ramirez's old house where she would remain asleep for the rest of the day.
It's a little crowded in here.
Later that night, "Snowy" had a nightmare about Lazuli killing her before awaking in her Angel form right next to Buwaro and Rhea, who were still sleeping. She fell out of bed and woke up Buwaro, who was half-awake and didn't know what to make of this. She made her way out of the room and got a hold of a knife to defend herself with. She thought to herself about where she could be and what she could do given her situation. Suddenly Buwaro surprised her, turning her back into her rabbit form. Soon Rhea came into the room, wondering what was going on, and tried to calm "Snowy" down. The rabbit didn't cooperate, prompting Rhea to get more hands-on, which made Snowy turn back into her Angel form.
After the initial shock, Rhea tried to introduce herself and Buwaro and explain what they did for her, unaware of who or what she really was. "Snowy", unable to speak due to the braces, didn't know whether to trust them or not, especially since Buwaro was a Demon. Rhea then decided to go grab some food to eat, leaving Buwaro alone with "Snowy". "Snowy" felt scared to be left alone, but when Buwaro apologized for scaring her, she didn't know what to make of it. She later heard him scream in pain and decided to check on him, since he was nothing but nice to her. She saw him crying in pain from growing new wings, which surprised her, as she thought Demons didn't cry; she fetched a towel to help him clean up.
When Rhea returned and saw the two together, she ranted about "Snowy" starting to get along with him when earlier she was crying in a corner. As they started eating and healing each other's wounds, Rhea tried asking her about who she was. Unable to respond, she motioned to her braces, but Rhea didn't understand what they meant, instead thinking her to be mute. Regardless, Rhea decided to help her to the human village, as Humans were forbidden to set foot in the Jakkai village.
She's no Angel, she's a Snow Bunny.
The next morning, they set out for Farun when Buwaro told Rhea that he gave the map and supplies to Thadius, causing her to go back for them. Buwaro and "Snowy" then started to explore a little, arriving on a cliff to see the forest below. Just then Lazuli showed up, speaking to Buwaro in a strange language that he didn't understand. Lazuli tried to explain that "Snowy" was actually an Angel, but Buwaro's ignorance of it surprised even "Snowy". Eventually Talus arrived and punched Buwaro off the cliff, leaving "Snowy" to her captors once more. Before they could do anything to harm her, Buwaro returned to try and stop them. As Lazuli argued with him about Angels being the enemy of Demons and demanding his Star Emblem, "Snowy" bit her in the arm and escaped with Buwaro.
They reunited with Rhea who found Thadius and their supplies, forcing her to run with them as well. They ended up getting cut off in the middle of a frozen lake as Lazuli prepared to finish them off. Through mishap, Lazuli ended up shouting "Snowy's" real name, Kieri Suizahn, which removed the bindings that were on her; allowing her to speak and use her magic once more. The two sides began fighting each other, with Kieri focusing on Lazuli while Rhea and Buwaro fought Talus. Initially they seemed even until Lazuli started overpowering her, forcing her to transform into her rabbit form again.
Kieri escaped her to help her friends, blasting Talus with water, causing him to drop her sword wrapped in demon cloth. She tries to grab it but cannot touch the cloth since she is a Holy being. Talus reclaims the sword but Rhea bites him, making him drop it again. Buwaro grabs it and opens the wrapping, allowing Kieri to wield her sword and activates her Angel Emblems#Sun Emblem to form her wings.
Kieri vs Lazuli.
During the fight, Lazuli trapped Kieri in ice in order to allow Talus to cut her with his axe. Buwaro went to help her, almost succeeding and taking a hit for her, while Rhea tricked Talus into falling through the ice. After Buwaro freed Kieri from the ice, she then went to save Rhea by stabbing Talus in the arm. The fight seemed to end with Buwaro pushing Lazuli into the water and having Talus sink on top of her. However Lazuli then bursted from the water and forced Kieri under with her, but Kieri managed to strike her on the side. She'd later emerge from the water, and passed out in her rabbit form.
Kieri revealing what she really is.
Kieri later woke up in Buwaro's arms and wondered what happened. She began to apologize to the two for what had happened and thanked them for saving her. Rhea demanded to know what she was, and Kieri explained how she fell from Heaven into Medius along with her brother, his friend and a Human, and how she was cursed by Toski the Rabbit before being captured by Lazuli and Talus.
The group then arrived at Farun, where Rhea was forced to leave Buwaro for awhile while she and Kieri went to find him a disguise. As Rhea and Kieri walked through town, Rhea decided the two should separate for the time being, while showing concern about Kieri being left alone. Kieri replied that she didn't want to trouble her and Buwaro any further. She thanked Rhea for what she thought would be the last time, before heading to the Inn where her brother was last seen in.
Upon arriving at the Snow Drop Inn, Kieri learned from the innkeeper that her brother and Sanjulo had already left. She was allowed to stay in one of the rooms for free and was even given a nightgown to wear, as her own clothes were still wet. Disappointed and saddened by this, Kieri went to her room and sulked for awhile, until Rhea and Buwaro showed up to greet her.
Her favorite color is purple.
They tried to cheer her up and learn things about her and her kind, such as why they have matching-colored clothing and hair, how her favorite color was purple (just like Buwaro's fur, to her embarrassment), and how Angel Emblems work. This also confirmed to Kieri that the two of them came from Hell; learning that Buwaro's sister Sakido died on the way up, she felt sorry for him. Through Rhea and Buwaro's bantering, Kieri started to warm up to the two. Later that evening, after Rhea and Buwaro left to their own room to sleep, Kieri had a nightmare about Kazai, Lazuli and Toski calling her a monster, and Rhea and Buwaro eventually saving her.
The next morning, Kieri brought the two breakfast, with Rhea joking how the innkeeper brought them a Snow Rabbit to eat. The three ate while Kieri finished her story on how she was separated from Kazai and his friend Sanjulo. Buwaro offered to help her find them while Rhea was reluctant at first. She decided to chance it through a coin toss; it landed on heads, which meant they wouldn't do anything, but she decided to do so anyway.
The three went around Farun to collect supplies and satisfy Buwaro's curiosity of the world. While at a book store, getting a map, Kieri noticed Buwaro reading a book about the Great War. He told her that he couldn't read, but Kieri didn't mind and even offered to read to him, just not the book they currently had. They then visited Jake again at his shop. Upon seeing Kieri, he started to flirt with her but was interrupted by Rhea, saying that she was leaving with them to travel around Fragaria together. Disappointed that she was leaving, he granted her a few favors from her, first one being to sell them a sheath for Kieri's Sword, though the one he had turned out to be Kieri's original sheath.
River-Side Stories[]
Search for Kazai[]
"Bandit on ice." Nice!
The next day, they set off eastward to Riverside City, following Kazai's trail. Along the way, they stayed the night at an old rest stop, where Rhea and Buwaro learned more about the Great War as well as Mother Gaia and Father Syndel; Kieri revealed that the Great War was supposed to have ended only a few years before she was born, which surprised Rhea. As they continued the following morning, they ran into a couple of bandits, whom Rhea and Kieri easily beat.
The three eventually arrived at Riverside City after a day of travel. They got a room at the Chipper Mudskipper Inn; after dinner, Rhea asked Kieri if she could read the book that she brought from Hell, as a way for her to repay them for their help. Kieri told them that it was a diary from an Angel named Darius Elexion, a name that both Rhea and Buwaro found familiar. They convinced Kieri to read it, learning a bit about him before deciding to quit for the night.
They began searching for Kazai the next morning with no luck at all. Trouble arose when Rhea tried to rescue two kids from a frozen river and fell in, nearly drowning. Kieri, in Snow Rabbit form, used her Water Magic to freeze a path on the lake for her and Buwaro to use while they tried to save Rhea and the child. With the aid of a member of the Helper's Guild, they saved her and took her to the hospital. There, the Guild member made her sign a form and gave her the Trouble Center's business card, saying they were hiring.
Together they walk among Medians.
While Rhea was bedridden, Kieri and Buwaro decided to try and earn some money from the Helper's Guild, heading to the Trouble Center to see about helping. They were turned down because of Buwaro's outfit, as pimping wasn't legal; Rhea, groggy and half-awake, told them to go out as “Angel and Demon”, and the two of them headed out without any disguises.
Their first task was to help an old lady, Mrs. Green, with her groceries; this took them until evening. As they were going home, snow started to fall and Kieri sneezed herself in and out of Snow Bunny form. She complained about her curse, saying that she hated it and that she didn't want to “give in” to it, as she was already seen as weak among her family. Buwaro tried to reassure her, but Kieri stated that he couldn't understand.
When they got back, Rhea was initially angered by how they went out casually without any disguise. She learned that Kieri was upset over something so she and Buwaro tried to cheer her up. Through misunderstanding, she caused Buwaro to think that Kieri's 'crush' on him was a bad thing, when it actually meant she liked him. When Buwaro told Kieri, she replied that she didn't hate him at all and that she did like him. Rhea then got her to read more of Darius' Diary and learn more about him; Kieri was flustered to learn that Darius has had a crush on her own uncle.
Over the course of the week, while Rhea recovered, Buwaro and Kieri kept helping people as volunteers for the Trouble Center. Around that time, Kieri revealed that she didn't know which foods she could eat, as she's never done it in Heaven; to what Rhea and Buwaro reassured her and offered to help her discover what she liked to eat.[1] During one step of a long series of item fetch quests, Kieri and Buwaro learned from an old woman that two other Angels had been here recently, and were headed to either St. Curtis or Weyville; Kieri was sure they were Kazai and Sanjulo.
After being paid for their work, Kieri suggested they had enough time to maybe help one more person. They overheard someone complaining; Buwaro went to help him, but the man recognzized him as a Demon and threatened to attack him with magic. Kieri stopped him, and the man eventually left. As Kieri and Buwaro left for the inn, they saw a little girl run past them as someone called for thief. Kieri stopped her with Water magic and returned the stolen jar to the Jakkai shopkeeper, only to notice too late that it contained a Fairy. The girl blamed Kieri for stopping her rescue, causing her to feel like she's failed again. Buwaro suggested they get Rhea's help with this.
While Rhea didn't believe their story at first, Kieri convinced her of Fairies' existence, and she proposed to solve it through haggling. Buwaro and Kieri waited outside for her, eventually meeting with the girl again, right before Rhea ran outside having stolen the Fairy back. Grateful, the girl introduced herself as Samantha "Sammy" Kailum and revealed she knew what Buwaro and Kieri were. Kieri offered to escort her to her family's wagon, where her aunt Miranda was waiting.
As everyone was drinking tea and eating cookies, Miranda's husband Cliff arrived, only to be surprised that the Demon and Angel he met earlier was in his home. After a short argument from Cliff and Miranda, they properly introduced themselves, along with another fairy named Duster, though Rhea found the name "Sinclair" familiar. Miranda offered the three to travel with them to Weyville despite Cliff's protests, as they could use the protection of an armed Angel; however, the three friends had to leave as to hide Kieri's upcoming curse.
"Can I keep him?"
At the inn, Rhea pondered whether they really should take up their offer because of the trouble it would be to keep Kieri's curse a secret. With consideration, they decided to go for it. Before leaving they stopped by the Trouble Center to let them know they were leaving. Though sad to see them go, the receptionist told them to keep the buttons for the next time they come across one of their centers. The three friends started traveling with the Sinclairs. Kieri expressed gratitude to him for letting them come along, to what Cliff only asked whether that sword was meant for killing Demons.
Love and War[]
Journey with the Sinclairs[]
As they traveled, Buwaro and Kieri happily walked together outside the wagon, growing closer with time. Kieri noticed the tear in his right ear and asked if it hurt getting it. Buwaro tried to reply, despite not remembering how he got it, but otherwise said it didn't hurt now. Kieri's compliment made Buwaro happy that she said something nice, as no one had ever cared that much about his ear before.
As days went by, Kieri kept reading Darius' diary without telling her friends of what she read. After reading about how Darius Elexion adopted Iratu and Sakido she was ready to stop for the day; but then she noticed Buwaro being mentioned, and kept reading. She learned about Buwaro's condition as a permanently berserk Demon, which greatly surprised her as the Buwaro she knew wasn't like that. Looking for how Darius managed to cure him, she learned about his Star Pendant. She went out to confront Buwaro and Rhea, who was reluctant to tell her the truth. Kieri grew upset, feeling they've been hiding this for her, and asked whether Buwaro truly was a monster only held back by the pendant. Rhea scolded her and called her a “cold-hearted bitch”, causing Kieri to fly off in tears.
Rhea and Kieri make up for earlier.
In her Snow Bunny form, Kieri remembered her childhood: her father's injuries from fighting Demons, her brother's disinterest in learning about Medians, her mother's insistence on upholding the Suizahn legacy of Demon slayers. Rhea then popped up behind her, startling her and causing her to run, but grabbed her anyway. She apologized for shat she's said, while Kieri admitted she was afraid of what Buwaro could become, to what Rhea said he would never take the Star Pendant off. As they headed back, Kieri expressed that she wanted to be more like Rhea, who did all she wanted whereas she was afraid of betraying her family by being in a relationship with a Demon. Rhea told her that she shouldn't give up on her own happiness just to satisfy others.
Rhea and Kieri returned to the wagon where Buwaro was waiting for them, and found him acting differently than before. He pushed Kieri away, and Rhea tried to talk to him, but Kieri stopped her as she'd handle it herself. The next day, as they were still tense, Rhea asked Kieri how she knew about Buwaro's pendant, and Kieri told them all she's read. She suspected that something had happened to Darius while Buwaro was young, as he didn't remember any of it. She then suggested he could take on his father's name as per Angel tradition, if he wanted to remember him; from then on, Buwaro referred to himself as Buwaro Elexion.
The Weyville Incident[]
"Some of us are trying to sleep!!"
The group arrived near Weyville, and Buwaro was told he would have to stay in the wagon; Kieri assertively demanded she stay with him, making him blush. That evening, they discussed plans for the next day: Kieri wanted to ask in town if anyone had seen Kazai and Sanjulo. Rhea offered he and Buwaro follow her, but seeing Buwaro's reluctance, Kieri told them it was fine and she could go on her own. That night, she had a nightmare about killing Buwaro, and didn't want to tell him about it.
The next morning, Kieri went with Sammy and the Fairies to go look for her brother while Cliff, Miranda and Duster went to Trader Moe's and Rhea and Buwaro stayed at the wagon. She didn't hear anything Sammy said, as she was still worried for Buwaro and Rhea; to what Sammy got inquisitive, and Kieri realized that she was on her own for the first time since meeting Rhea and Buwaro, and that was what got her so silent. When Eve asked whether Kieri was afraid Buwaro didn't love her anymore, Kieri tried to retort something, but was unable to.
Shortly after, Buwaro caught up to Kieri and Sammy, feeling protected by his Trouble Center button. He was about to tell her something important, when Kieri suddenly pushed him out of the way of an oncoming Holy Arrow. It was fired by an old Angel, who wanted nothing more to do than kill Buwaro because he was a Demon. Kieri tried to protect him and urged Buwaro to run, but he refused, saying he couldn't leave her to a psycho. A fight ensued, Kieri being no match for the Seraph's Wind Magic, yet trying to protect Buwaro no matter what. But it was Buwaro who took the blow for her, getting struck with lightning and collapsing. Kieri desperately tried to heal him with Holy Magic, and managed to keep him somewhat alive.
However, the old Angel was still bent on attacking them, to get rid of Demons and “traitors” like her. Cliff's intervention eventually saved them; he revealed the Angel to be a Denevol, and fought him using powerful Magic which scared Kieri, as she recognized his spell as that of Siara the Lynx. Miranda was able to save Buwaro with her healing potion, and they returned to the wagon.
Two days after the incident, Buwaro finally woke up, and started making his way to Kieri; who was staring at her uniform. As he stumbled up to her, he asked how she was doing and how he was sorry things had to happen like this. She explained her family's history, the extermination of the Denevol Clan and her mother's family. She revealed her conflict about her feelings for Buwaro and her family's history, how he wouldn't accept her, or how Kazai could try to attack him. Buwaro kissed her to quiet her worried, and she returned it.
Forgive Me[]
Journey to St. Curtis[]
Kieri learns the truth about Lazuli.
Rhea later dropped in on the two, hanging from a tree by her tail and having watched them the whole time they talked. She told them that Cliff returned and that it was dinner time, so they headed back together. As they did, Kieri expressed concern about how they might encounter Angels that may try to kill Buwaro. Rhea took the opportunity to tell them that in addition to Demons wanting to kill Kieri as well, Lazuli was still alive and after them. Naturally, Kieri was upset that Rhea kept this a secret from them; Rhea replied that they wouldn't have been able to do anything about it anyway. Kieri was still unsure about keeping the truth from the Sinclairs, so Rhea made a compromise: if they didn't hear anything about Kieri's brother in Weyville, they'd keep traveling to St. Curtis where they'd separate from them there, since it was the biggest city in Fragaria.
If there's any problem with this, they can leave.
As they returned to the wagon, Kieri apologized for putting her in danger as well. While saying it was no big deal, she accidentally revealed that she's been murdered, surprising Kieri even more and making her cry. Rhea tried dodging the truth by questioning Cliff about the Jakkai egg he got in Weyville, and getting dishes for dinner. Kieri scolded her about how she shouldn't lie to her friends; before Rhea could say anything about Kieri, Buwaro accidentally caused a loud crash when trying to touch the egg. The sudden shock caused Kieri to transform into her rabbit form, while the Sinclairs looked on in shock. Cliff was ready to attack, stopped by Miranda, and Kieri started crying; but Rhea explained the truth of how she got cursed, protecting Kieri. Miranda revealed Cliff's own misadventures with Meeros the Mortori Bird, and revealed they might run into Guardians at the St. Curtis Flower Festival who could help with her curse.
The next day, Buwaro told Kieri he wanted to grow stronger to protect her, even though Rhea still took him by surprise. He asked Kieri to teach him magic, but as she was a Water Angel and he was a Fire Demon, she couldn't teach him anything. Later, she would join Rhea, Miranda, Sammy and the Fairies for a picnic while Buwaro tried to learn Fire Magic from Cliff; when he eventually set the wagon's roof on fire, she put it out with a Water spell. After his failure, he asked Kieri to teach him how to read, and she was happy to. She remembered how she was the only one in her family to learn Lingo, whereas everyone expected her to be an uncultured brute due to being a Suizahn.
Buwaro later asked Kieri to keep reading Darius' diary, but his entries were cut short. However, she discovered more that were written by Sakido, and the three of them headed outside to read. She told them about what she read, and Buwaro cried in her arms. For the next few days, Buwaro would remain sad and sulking inside the wagon, despite Kieri's attempts at cheering him and persuading him to go outside where no one could see them. Teasingly, Rhea asked Kieri to sing, which she did at Buwaro's request despite being self-conscious. When Buwaro sung in turn, she couldn't help but feel enamored by his lovely voice.
As they reached the Zolle River, Willow and Eve left the group to return home to the Southern Woods. Before that, Eve kissed everyone's nose as a thanks, which Sammy stated was a special “Fairy Kiss” that could protect them from the Fairy Queen. Watching them leave, Kieri felt sad that they at least had the occasion to say goodbye. Buwaro later cheered her up by offering her a small rock, and Kieri said she couldn't wait to introduce them to her brother at the Festival.
Later, Rhea told Miranda about their plan to separate once they got to St. Curtis, though Miranda insisted they stay longer since it would be hard to find lodging when they get there. Rhea used Kieri as an example rabbit to tell Buwaro more about the Twelve Guardians, what they could do and how some took part in the Great War. Cliff returned just as they started talking about Meeros and was not in the mood to talk about him, since he had enough to deal with. Rhea asked if there was anyway they could repay them for helping them so much, and Miranda asked to harvest their bodies for ingredients; Kieri violently defended her friends, and Miranda explained she only needed Demon horn and claw clippings, as well as Angel feathers and tears, to brew the Rainbow Reverie potion set. Worried about what Meeros might think of a couple like Buwaro and Kieri, Cliff agreed to let them stay with him for the Festival if they helped tend his stand, at least until they met Meeros.
Kieri and her friends would spend the next few weeks traveling, while she taught Buwaro how to sing in Angelic. While traveling through Griffin Pass, Rhea noticed a large statue of Melli the Bee and wondered if it was like the statue of Fuzen'ro the Bat back in her forest. She then told Buwaro and Kieri the history of St. Curtis, regarding how it got the name and how the Jakkai and Humans got along. The group then entered Blossom Valley.
The Flower Festival[]
Pre-Festival Events[]
When they arrived in St. Curtis, they discovered Angels and Demons walking around without issue, which Cliff thought was out of the ordinary. Buwaro and Kieri (and this time, Rhea) joined the local Trouble Center and started searching for Kazai in town. One day, they came across an Angel child and his mother, as well as her Earth Demon companion. They learned from them that Kazai had been arrested for causing a landslide a few weeks earlier. When Kieri told them that she was his sister, they laughed at her, not believing she was a Suizahn as she was unarmed and way too eloquent, however, she paid it no mine. They also hinted at the existence of a ritual that could bring Demons from Hell and Angels from Heaven. Kieri thought Rhea and Buwaro had hidden it from her, but believed them when they said otherwise.
Buwaro found "Crunky"!
They headed to the jail house where Kazai and Sanjulo had been, only to find they've already been released. On the way home, Buwaro found a small wright wyvern and gave it to Kieri to try cheering her up, which she happily accepted. When Rhea joked about her brother being an “ex-convict”, Kieri sprayed her with water. Learning the date, Kieri gifted candy rocks to Buwaro and a book to Rhea, wishing them a happy birthday; she had misunderstood the Human custom of gift-giving. Since Buwaro didn't know his own birthday, he asked to share Kieri's, and only then learned what “twins” meant.
Day 1[]
And thus the Spring Flower Festival begins!
The next morning, on the first day of the festival, the three helped Cliff in selling his merchandise in return for living off him for a while. During the time she learned about Mixlings, meeting a Hukai named Toby. Rhea even teased her about her future Mixling with Buwaro.
You may not sell Crunky!
Later, a large Khamega appeared, wanting to purchase the wyvern from her. Kieri denied his offer, since it was a gift from Buwaro, and he decided to steal her by blasting them with water. He didn't get far as he was shortly stopped by Kieri. Rhea remarked how Cliff did nothing to protect 'his' stand, while he replied that he knew Kieri had things covered since she was someone who would "defend anyone from anything." Rhea doubted that, as Kieri felt very self-conscious from everyone watching her.
While Buwaro and Sammy went buying lunch, Cliff told Kieri and Rhea about golden Wright Wyverns, and how they were valuable as well as powerful Wind magic users. When Buwaro returned and asked Kieri if she's found a name for her yet, Kieri replied with an Angelic phrase that while pretty, was unpronounceable; she asked others for suggestions, turning down Rhea's fat-related named, and eventually settling on Buwaro's suggestion of “Crunky”, which the Wyvern seemed to prefer.
Buwaro tells Kieri not to worry so much.
That evening, Kieri told Buwaro about how she fought with Kazai before being separated, and didn't get a chance to make up. She feared that he didn't even notice her being separated and taken away, or maybe he didn't even care. Buwaro quelled her doubts and reassured her, saying that they shouldn't give up on searching for him, but flubbed his declaration of love; Kieri simply kissed him and went to sleep.
Day 2[]
The next morning, Rhea offered to help look for Kazai while they were at the stand, for she could reasonably track his scent. When Rhea instead found Jake sleeping under the wagon, he tried to flirt with Kieri again, only for Buwaro to butt in, causing Kieri to blush. As Jake left to check on his animals, Kieri asked about the promise that Rhea apparently made to him, to which she responds that he will be joining them.
"Now you've done it!"
Later, Cliff returned from the stables to prepare the display for today's main attraction: Miranda's completed Rainbow Reverie set. When Buwaro started to sulk about how bad he was at magic, Kieri told him that when she started learning magic with a really easy spell, and demonstrated a pretty Water Bubbles spell. She then allowed him to blow a bubble from her hands, only to trap a part of his Fire Breath inside it. A gust of wind blew the bubble away where it hit Tsavo's head, who furiously approached. He appeared disgusted at the sight of Kieri and Buwaro holding hands, but his attention was caught by the Rainbow Reverie. He tried to fight Cliff for it, which attracted the attention of three Angels, including a Seraph, who chased him away.
Kieri's anger.
However, one of the Angels approached Buwaro, thinking he was threatening Kieri, and tried to “help” her by pulling on his Star Pendant. When Kieri grabbed him to defend Buwaro, the Angel asked what was her problem and tried to cast a spell on Buwaro. This caused Kieri to snap, having flashbacks of her mother's treatment of her; she started beating up the Angel, only stopping when he begged for mercy and Rhea held her back. The two Angels flew away in fear, leaving Kieri to wonder why she did that, and run away to lock herself in the wagon as people were staring. Buwaro tried to get her to come out, but she only did so when Meeros the Mortori Bird appeared.
Raising Hell[]
Day 2 – Night[]
Cookie party, version 2!
When Cliff returned home, Kieri and her friends would be inside, eating cookies with Meeros. Cliff announced the birth of his daughter Florina, and Meeros advised them to celebrate in town. When Buwaro asked whether he could do anything about Kieri's curse, Meeros explained that he was unable to remove it, but that they could try seeking out the Water Guardian Milothys the Dolphin in Port Dorade. As everyone left, Kieri decided to stay inside and go to sleep instead, and Buwaro and Crunky stayed to keep her company. She sulked and thought of many possible ways to kill herself, before Buwaro woke her from her thoughts; she admitted that staying in her Snow Bunny form helped her control it better.
Buwaro told her that Jake and Rhea had returned from their night of partying, in horrible shape. Rhea had gotten Kieri some birthday presents, including a “Bee Happy” shirt. Kieri first put it over her uniform, and when Rhea teased her about showing some skin and started pulling her sleeve up, she saw scars on her arm that Kieri felt ashamed about, asking her to not tell Buwaro.
Day 3[]
You should probably wear something else too.
Kieri and Buwaro tended the stand alone as Rhea didn't feel well. She read a book about the care of Wyverns that Jake had gifted her; when Buwaro started singing in Angelic, she joined along, and they got noticed by Sahne. She came with Kinako, Tirol and a Water Demon named Lakritz, who commented that Demons who knew Angelic were dangerous. Buwaro noticed the mark on Kinako's arm, and she explained the rules around Angel uniforms; she was glad that Lakritz got her to wear something else, and he advised Kieri to do the same as it might “help”. Buwaro then asked to see Kieri's own tattoo, and she felt great unease, but was eventually interrupted by a pair of Jakkai coming over to seek help for their fur problems.
At that moment, the Sinclair Family returned with their new member, and Meeros followed soon after. He urged Kieri and Buwaro to take part in the festival (and tell everyone how great Mortori Birds were) instead of working for Cliff, and the two left. Kieri was worried about leaving the Sinclairs, but Buwaro reassured her. When he got them ice cream but only returned with one he'd taken a bite of, Kieri internally berated him for lying and herself for doubting him, and Buwaro quickly took her to the game stands.
They arrived at the midway and came across an archery stand ran by a Jakkai lady. While she wasn't pleased to see a Demon, she was intrigued by the friendship between Buwaro and Kieri, and let them play. Buwaro was unable to hold a bow due to his claws and let Kieri do it, as she had archery training. She lost the rigged game and only won a Toski puppet as a consolation prize; reminded once again of her mother's treatment of her, she accidentally destroyed the stand, causing the lady to chase after them. They were however spared by a Jakkai who stated they were good people.
Spiraling further into depression.
Buwaro and Kieri hid from their pursuer, and he asked her if she was alright. She lied and said nothing was wrong; however, he then smelled something, and brought Kieri over to see: it was her brother Kazai. Kieri reunited with him, and try to explain her situation, but Kazai remained convinced that they've been brought here to eradicate the Demons “corrupting” Medians into treating them as people. While Kieri was happy to see him, she didn't seem at ease.
Suddenly, Melli the Fire Bee fell near them, followed by a giant snake. Kieri stopped Kazai from attacking either of them, as well as Buwaro standing nearby. Following the Guardians' fight and the ensuing fire, Kieri noticed Kazai's tail, and tried to get an explanation out of him, just before Sanjulo appeared and the two went to fight Demons and the Jakkai helping them. She stayed back as they fought, only coming to Kazai's rescue after he got struck by Tsavo, but couldn't manage to attack. Tsavo and Moonshade fled, and Verammi then arrived to tell the three of them to protect Medians and fight Demons.
Taking refuse on a rooftop to heal Kazai's wing, she asked to speak with him in private, using his secret as leverage. She apologized for their fight in Farun, which Kazai had forgotten about. He revealed he's been cursed by Broxis the Wolf and was in a relationship with Sanjulo. When Kieri tried to tell him about her own relationship with Buwaro, he immediately refused to accept it, claiming Demons were monsters and that Buwaro was tricking her. She then expressed her doubts about Verammi, and Kazai angrily told her that she was turning her back on her family. Kieri started crying, and Kazai left her alone with Crunky.
Oops! All Demons[]
The Demon Invasion[]
Soon after, the three of them tried to meet with other Angels at the place Verammi had specified. There, they found an unconscious and injured Denevol, left there as bait by Azurai. They tried to fight, but Azurai ended up killing Sanjulo in a fit of rage; when Verammi eventually arrived, she caught Kazai in a trap and congratulated Kieri for helping along. Kieri protested that she'd never betray her brother, and Verammi attacked her; she however managed to escape, hiding as a Snow Bunny, before making her way back to the Sinclair Wagon.
She saw them fighting with Demons, and immediately swooped in to stab Abyset. When she saw Buwaro again, she broke down in tears, and he calmed her down with a song. She healed his, Rhea's and Cliff's injuries, and explained to them what had happened. Rhea said that the Demon she's met was Buwaro's brother, which distraught Kieri. She thanked the Sinclairs for having helped them, then Buwaro and Rhea; however, when Buwaro insisted to help her, Kieri pushed him away with a spell, claiming he wouldn't be of any help as he was weak. She then flew away on her own.
Lazuli bites Kieri's shoulder.
Some time later, a Wind Angel came to warn her that Medians were fighting with a Demon nearby, and Kieri swooped in to help her friends against none other than Lazuli. Paralyzed by a panic attack at the sight of her, Kieri couldn't attack and got wounded; she would have been killed if not for Azurai's intervention, who claimed they needed living Angels. Kieri still tried to fight, but Buwaro grabbed her and claimed he had captured her, with Rhea joining in. Kieri was braced, her sword and pendants confiscated, and started to cry; however, Rhea made her understand it was all a ruse. They were then taken to the Gathering at the Coiled Cobra Bar, where Demons and their captives were gathered.
Through Fang and Flame[]
The Gathering[]
As they arrived at the Coiled Cobra Bar, Kieri was put with the other captives, where she met her brother again. Verammi started making fun of her for being in love with Buwaro, as well as Kinako's own relationships, and the two were shamefully glared at by other Angels. When Demons taunted the Angels to drink beer from a pet bowl, Lazuli poured it all on Kieri's head, prompting Buwaro to fight her, escalating into a free-for-all. Buwaro was knocked out, and found Kieri standing over him worried. However, the time came to take the Angels to the ritual site, and Kieri was taken away. Rhea called after her, but Kieri was silenced and couldn't answer.
Kieri remained huddled with Kazai and Crunky while on the wagon. Lazuli, upset at Talus's death and Dakos's criticism, attempted to kill her in revenge, but was interrupted when a berserk Buwaro gave chase after them. She grew afraid, wondering how that could have happened while Buwaro had his Star Pendant on. He attacked the Demons on board, but was blasted off by Lazuli. Hearing him call for “Snowy”, Dakos threw Kieri out of the wagon to put him off their trail; Buwaro caught her, transformed into her Snow Bunny form.
Rhea undid Kieri's braces and explained their situation, but Kieri kept looking in direction of the wagons, where Kazai and the other Angels still were. Rhea eventually gave in, using the blue Rainbow Reverie potion and Kieri as bait to get Buwaro back on track. He managed to catch up to the Demons, throw Lazuli off and almost attacked Dakos before the red potion's effects wore off. Kieri ran up to Buwaro's side while Rhea kicked Dakos and knocked him off the wagon. Kazai walked to her in his wolf form, confused, and Kieri transformed to reveal she too had been cursed by a guardian. She freed him from his braces, but before they could talk, Rhea told everyone to jump off as the wagon was headed straight into flaming branches. Kieri carried Buwaro off, reluctantly helped by Kazai.
Dakos soon returned, ready to kill all the Angels, but was promptly killed by an oncoming berserk Lazuli. Rhea and Kazai fought her at first, but were overpowered. Despite her exhaustion, Kieri managed to transform back into an Angel and stab Lazuli with her sword, killing her. She then fell of exhaustion, just before Sahne arrived.
Atop the Tree of Peace[]
Post-Invasion[]
After several days, the fires burning St. Curtis would dissipate, and at some point Kieri and many other survivors took refuge inside the Tree of Peace. Kieri would stay with Kazai and Crunky inside an apartment room where she presumably remained miserable for what happened lately. Buwaro tried to visit her, but was punched away by Kazai; he returned a few days later, and this time she told Kazai to leave him alone. The two of them were left in the room.
Buwaro started to apologize to her for tricking her and using the red potion, and for failing to help her like he had done before. She peered out at around that time, and he expressed how he wanted to repay her for everything she did for him, with the happiness she deserved. At that moment, Kieri reached out to him to silently embrace him tearfully. She asked him to keep calling her “Snowy”, as it reminded her of the time they met, and he accepted her despite knowing she was a Demon slayer. Buwaro admitted he didn't know anything back then, and that she accepted him despite knowing he was a Demon, to what she revealed she didn't even know Demons could cry before meeting him.
After Buwaro turned on the lights, he asked her about the shirt she was wearing. She explained that an acolyte gave her it while they were repairing her uniform, which has been repaired and sitting on a nearby trunk. She stated she did not want to wear it, before breaking down and crying she didn't want to kill anymore. Once he realized that this had to do with her killing Lazuli, he hugged her and tried to persuade her that it wasn't her fault; that it was Lazuli's choice to do what she did, just as it was their choice to protect themselves. He also mentioned that they and the Tamises were proof that things could change and they all did what they could; though he started to have self-doubts about how he couldn't do anything, which caused Kieri to hush him and ask why he would think that. The two had a little argument over what they did to each other before realizing they were "fighting" again.
Buwaro then suggested they should both apologize, but was concerned that she wasn't expecting more out of him and that they should be able to do that for each other. In addition, just as she taught him many things, he wanted to teach her how to love herself more and began to instruct her on what she could say to apologize. She became too flustered to try, so Buwaro opted to have her kiss him a few times before they started laughing happily.
Shortly after, Kieri apologized for how her brother treated him, but he didn't mind because of everything that happened to him and how he wouldn't know what to do if he lost Kieri. He talked about his feelings regarding Iratu and Sakido, wishing he'd have known her more. Kieri suggested he talk to Lakritz or Rhea, and suddenly remembered her, and got convinced that Rhea hated her.
Later, when Crunky wake up, she attacked Buwaro which caused commotion, causing Kazai to break into the room and “rescue” his sister. After Buwaro left, Kazai commented on Kieri's Snow Bunny form and called it ridiculous, to what she answered that his curse looked even more ridiculous. He tried to deny it and claimed he even hid it from Sanjulo, much to Kieri's disbelief. She then tried to comfort him over Sanjulo's death, nut he tried to hide his sorrow while accepting that he died honorably.
Kieri asked about when he got cursed and offered to teach him how to control it better, based on her experiences with her own curse, but he tried denying that he needed any help despite his obvious troubles. He soon told her about what happened regarding Broxis the Wolf and Kieri proceeded to hug him, grateful that Broxis didn't go out of his way to kill her brother. She told him about how she learned that Milothys the Dolphin could help break their curse, but he just said it was pointless since they needed to go save the remaining Angels. When she tried to reason with him, he questioned her duty as a Warrior Angel and where her pride was as a Suizahn. She reminded him that they were the only Warrior Angels in town against an army of Demons, and needed the help of a Median Guardian.
Showing her curse form, she once again offered to help him control his curse, causing him to note how much she changed. He then asked if she still prayed to Mother Gaia and questioned if she'd even want to know Kieri's love for a Demon. She blushed and affirmed that she loved her new friends for helping her through Medius; and though Kazai vowed he would find a way for the both of them to return home, she felt unsure about wanting to.
That night, Kieri dreamed out the time Buwaro comforted her when she couldn't change out of her curse form. Afterward, she decided to leave for the old Jakkai village, after leaving behind a note for Kazai to read. After reaching the village, she encountered Cyran, thinking she was Roxana. Realizing who she was, Cyran called for Buwaro before taking their leave. At first, she was nervous of Buwaro's glowing eyes, until he glomped onto her. As he started apologizing for forgetting about her poor night vision, she started to kiss him for a moment. She then attempted to forgive him for everything but couldn't stop herself from apologizing.
Buwaro then told her that he learned a lot about Sakido, but wanted her help in talking to Rhea since she's been acting strange. Arriving at where everyone else was, they were greeted by Jake, who was wearing one of Miranda's old dresses. She was amazed that they could just wear whatever they wanted, explaining how her people restricted a lot of their freedoms base on their magical element. Kinako then told them about how Lakritz and Sahne were spending some "private Demon time" together, much to Buwaro's confusion. When she told him to ask someone he knew about it, Rhea drunkenly objected to the idea.
Despite all the times they've spent together, Kieri was worried that she wouldn't accept her apology. But she was too drunk and indifferent about what had happened; Kieri eased herself closer, asking about the wine that Rhea stole from the temple. Buwaro offered her food and tried to taste Rhea's wine, but Kieri took it away from them, before taking a swig herself. Once Lakritz and Sahne came out, everyone started to party with Buwaro and Kieri kissing each other. Buwaro later mentioned that Rhea brought back her bag, and although her dye bottle was broken, she still had the blue rock he gave her; which to her was his small act of kindness.
Kieri then started talking how much her life's improved because of Buwaro and Rhea, to the point where she'd die for them, much to their shock. Hearing this, he tried telling her she should live instead, as dying reminded him of his sister doing so for him. Kieri wondered about the Angel that killed her and Rhea brought up what Lakritz and Sahne told her, where it was an Angel claiming to be Father Syndel. The two even joined in to fill them in more about "Syndel" and how he came to rule over Hell. Everyone felt uneasy over these turn of events, while the pair decided to settle in after being able to express their association with someone they thought they could leave behind.
Buwaro, naturally, felt confused for if Syndel was an Angel, then (he imagined) would Gaia was really a Demon instead. Kieri felt scared that she wasn't telling them how to fight the Demons and Buwaro suggested that they shouldn't be fighting; that all Syndel and Gaia have done was make excuses to continually fight, and if they weren't going to stop the war, then they should do it themselves. Rhea cheered him on, agreeing to this and (drunkenly) saying that she was able to do things with her own will, without relying on the gods for help. Buwaro added that he wanted to show everyone how they didn't have to fight and could love each other. But Kieri felt that she couldn't just stop praying since it was all she could do, even in times of despair. She was also worried that Kazai wouldn't listen to her and go off on his own, to which Rhea cited a metaphor on how Earth Dragons were tamed. Regardless, the group agreed to leave St. Curtis in three days.
The Lost Puppy[]
Journey to Port Dorade[]
As Buwaro showed off his new travel attire to Sahne and Tirol, Kieri approached them while in her new clothes and Buwaro started complimenting her; even stating that her hair was like his. She became flustered when he mentioned how the words he was 'signing' were "I love you". After everyone else said their good byes, she made one last look toward them as the two left the tree.
They would then rejoin Rhea and Jake outside and start making their way out of town. Rhea joked about how Kieri could take Buwaro's last name upon marrying him, much to her embarrassment. However, on the destroyed outskirts of town, she was surprised by the arrival of Kazai; who tried to persuade her to leave her friends and come back to him, promising to forgive her for leaving him. This made Kieri hold her friends' hands before he tried to attack Buwaro. She punched her in return, and the two began to fight.
As they fought, Kazai outmatched her in terms of spells and power; and although she would occasionally outsmart him with various tactics, she kept thinking back to how as children he would constantly brag about his prowess. Soon he started to get upset that she was trying to abandon him and without realizing it at first, scratched her with his wolf hands. As she fell, she started to despair from the memories of being left behind long ago, but was able to snap back thanks to seeing her friends.
With that, she fired off more Holy Blasts at Kazai, who then unleashed a swarm of shooting stars at her. She transformed and dove toward him, only taking minor damage as she reverted back and kicked him. As he fell, Kazai found himself unable to transform back to his original form and so Kieri saved him from hitting the ground. However, she confiscated his Star Emblem which prompted him to leave, sad and defeated. Kieri collapsed in exhaustion as Buwaro and Rhea rushed to her side, complimenting and reassuring her that they'd take care of her. With that bit of relief, she turned into her rabbit form and fell asleep.
The group would later depart from St. Curtis and spend the next few days traveling together. One night, Buwaro offered for the both of them to learn more Sign Lingo but she declined. This prompted Buwaro to bring up something "fun" they could do together, which was read Rhea's adventure book. But once Buwaro realized the book was too complicated for him to read alone, Kieri activated her brother's old Star Emblem and offered to help him. That night, she dreamed that Buwaro was a giant bunny and was not afraid of him. All because, according to Buwaro, this was a good dream.
The next morning, she'd wait for Buwaro to return while Rhea told him and J about Kazai following them. Buwaro told Kieri he'd tell her tonight in their tent; and the next day, Kieri met with Kazai again. She threatened him with her sword, and he explained that he was now alone in an unfamiliar place, as Medius was a scary place crawling with Demons, and asked to stay with her. Kieri begrudgingly accepted, but made it clear she wasn't forgiving him. As they keep traveling, Kieri kept a cold and silent attitude towards Kazai, making it clear she had her eye on him so that he wouldn't try to hurt Buwaro.
When Kazai accidentally poisoned soup with Heartbreak Fruit, Kieri was the only one to not eat any, and therefore had to deal with Rhea's anxiety attack, Buwaro's sickness, J's flirtatious behavior and Kazai's cry-laughing and anger. Later that night, when things calmed down, she was holding Rhea on her lap and started crying when she made a move to leave; Kieri sang a lullaby and Rhea stayed with her.
Horrible, terrible, existentially dreadful information...
The next day, she saw with surprise that Rhea's tail had changed, prompting Rhea to explain everything that she learned about Death being Darius and Moku being her grandfather. The weight of such information made her collapse to the ground; however, she comforted Rhea by pointing out they now both had "funky transformation stuff going on". When Kazai admitted to having spiked the soup and Buwaro forgave him easily, she sighed. Later that day, as Kazai appeared dismissive of Kieri's ease in controlling her curse, claiming his Star Pendant to be the reason, she gave him the cold, silent treatment and ignored his attempts at bonding, prompting him to cry.
Later, recovering some use of speech, she confided in Buwaro that she didn't know whether to forgive Kazai, or even if she wanted to. Buwaro told her about his own conflicted feelings about Iratu and how he wouldn't know whether to forgive him either; but also that it would be painful to lose him as he did with Sakido. He encouraged Kieri to make her own decisions regarding Kazai, and he'd support her no matter what. Kieri tried to talk about her family, but found it difficult to speak about; Buwaro gave her Darius's diary to write in, saying that she's helped him learn about her family and that he now wanted to learn about hers.
Some time later, when Kazai went missing, she tried to fly after him, only to be stopped by Rhea on account of the thunderstorm. The two of them went looking for him, discussing the complicated relationships of siblings. Finding Kazai facing off against a Thunderbolt Wyvern, Kieri jumped to his aid and defeated it using the Star Emblem, earning Rhea's praise. When Kazai returned to his senses, his self-depreciating words made Kieri remember her own moments of defeat, and she saw her own suffering and doubts mirrored in his attitude; in that moment, she realized the damage of Heaven's upbringing, recalling Rhea's metaphor about Earth Dragons. While she didn't know what to say, she told Kazai that "no one can stop the Suizahn twins", all while making it known he still wasn't forgiven.
The three of them headed back to camp, and Buwaro scolded Kazai for the trouble he's been causing them, claiming he shouldn't take Kieri's love for granted. They eventually made peace, and Kieri then collapsed from sickness.
The Last Angels[]
She eventually woke up in the tent, surrounded by her friends playing cards. Recalling the way Kazai stuck by her side when she fell ill as a child, she joined him in the game. The next day, after getting ink from Rhea, she set to write in the diary about her upbringing in Heaven and her family, in hopes to shed light on her feelings.
Heaven lore.
She explained Heaven and Angels' way of life, her family's history and her upbringing as a warrior of the Suizahn Clan: her training, her relationship with her brother, the abuse she received from her mother and the constant pressure and expectations that she couldn't meet. She reflected on how a lifestyle of fighting and killing left no room for anything else, and that while she was saved from it by meeting Rhea and Buwaro, she was worried that Kazai was headed down the same path as their parents, and could die just like Sanjulo. Finally, she stated her intentions to put an end to the Great War peacefully, for the sake of Angels as well as Demons and Medians.
She finished writing a few days later, but was unsure as to whether Buwaro would understand it all, and wondered about having Rhea help him. Buwaro came bringing her soup, and Rhea teased her for having eaten it despite its coloration. Buwaro showed off his new clothing, which she completed with a purple bow in his hair. She gave him and Rhea the diary, leaving them to read it. They stayed in the tent all day long, and by the evening, Buwaro came sobbing into Kieri's arms.
The next morning, they headed up the hill to discuss what they've read. Misunderstanding Angel hierarchy titles, Buwaro called Kieri a princess, and claimed that it made sense that Kazai hated him, as himself was a nobody. At Kieri's insistence, Rhea cheered him up, as he didn't love Kieri for her social status and she therefore had no reason to look down on him.
Kieri explained that Kazai had never killed Demons for his Star Pendant, as there were none in Heaven. She told Rhea that she's never met Mother Gaia, as only Drazil and Angels with a Moon Pendant could see her, which she's never questioned. She wondered whether Gaia was really gone, and Rhea reassured her, before saying she would kick her mother's ass. Kieri told her about the “fake Moku” she's fought in St. Curtis, and Rhea acknowledged he could be her father. She however said that the family they chose was more important than blood, Buwaro stated that she was part of their family, and embraced the two of them, making Kieri cry happily.
Buwaro then told them stories he's heard from Lakritz about Sakido's youth in Hell. When Kieri learned how Hell felt about Angels, she said it was the same things she's heard about Demons in Heaven; but while these were lies, she now knew they could be overcome.
