The Dragon Island Archipelago is a series of islands southeast of Fragaria whose governments are united under one empire. It is the birthplace of Miranda Sinclair and Samantha "Sammy" Kailum.

Geography[]

There are at least four known islands that make up the archipelago, all named after the Dragon species that live there.[2]

  • Water Dragon Island features mangroves and lakes.
  • Wind Dragon Island features stormy and scattered shores.
  • Earth Dragon Island features arid and sandy deserts.
  • Fire Dragon Island features lush forests and volcanoes.

The climate is very warm, to the point Jakkai native to the islands never grow a winter coat.[3]

Government[]

Currently the islands are governed by an unnamed emperor who united the island governments into one empire. It is neither belligerent or an "evil" empire and is on good terms with Fragaria.[1]

Culture[]

Not much is known about the general culture of this nation, apart from its history of seafaring piracy. The Dragon Islands are the homeland of Khamega, who dwell in warm climates near bodies of water; Merfolk also live there. Dyeing one's hair or fur in bright colors is common, more so than in Fragaria.[4]

DragonFairyTale

The creation of the Dragon Islands, as told in a fairy tale.

There is a story that says Dragons fought each other to know which of them would become one of the Twelve Guardians, and that battle is what broke their home into several islands.[5] Earth Dragons are used for farming, as their powerful magic can terraform large areas of land.[6] Water Dragons might be ridden as transportation.[7] Dragons are known to be revered in some Khamega cultures, and considered sacred ancestors; these legends complement those of the Three Gods or the Twelve Guardians.[8]

Moku the Snake and Rynn the Flame Dragon might possibly originate from the Dragon Islands: their respective animal forms are a cactus cobra and a Fire Dragon, which are both native to the archipelago.

Trivia[]

  • The Median culture in the Dragon Island Archipelago is based on Middle Eastern, Southeast Asian, Mexican, and Caribbean culture.[1]
